She obtained her fellowship from the Royal College of Surgeons, Edinburgh. She underwent fellowship training in vitreo-retinal surgery at Sankara Nethralaya, Chennai. She subsequently was awarded an ICO fellowship with Prof Anthony Moore of Moorfields Eye Hospital in ‘Inherited retinal dystrophies’. She was a senior consultant in the Vitreoretinal department at Narayana Nethralaya, Bangalore till February 2015.
Dr.Rajani Battu is a senior consultant in Ophthalmology with Aster CMI Hospital,Bangalore. Following her MBBS from Bangalore Medical College, she did her Master’s at St. John’s Medical College, Bangalore.
Dr.Rajani has won three gold medals in Ophthalmology during her graduation. She was awarded the AFER/ARVO visiting researcher award in 2009. She was awarded the 2nd best paper at the Karnataka Ophthalmic Society meet held in Mysuru in 2014. She is adept at managing the entire gamut of retinal problems, including diabetic eye disease and retinal detachment.
