Dr. Mirza Masoom Abbas is a Consultant in Neurology Department at Aster CMI Hospital, Bangalore. Originally from Tumkur, Karnataka where he had completed his formal education Dr. Mirza later underwent training in Medicine and Neurology. It was during his residency days that the doctor has found his fascination in varied phenomenology of Parkinson’s disease and other Movement Disorders which lead him to pursue a formal fellowship in the area. With special interest in management of Parkinson’s and other Movement Disorder patients, Dr. Mirza believes in comprehensive approach to any disease and prioritizes the management according to the patient symptoms. His area of interest includes Deep Brain Stimulation Surgery and Botulinum Toxin Injection for movement disorders. Dr. Mirza’s role in medical field started in 2008 where after graduation he had worked in Appollo Hospital till 2011 as Medicine Registrar. After the completion of his Neurology residency from NIMHANS from the year 2011 till 2014, he worked as an Assistant Professor at M.S Ramaiah Medical College till 2015 and later worked in Movement Disorders at Parkinson’s and Aging Research Foundation from 2015 to 2016. Recently in 2017, Dr. Mirza has completed his Clinical Fellowship in Parkinson’s and Movement Disorders at National Neuroscience Institute, Singapore. He is also actively involved in clinical research in the field of movement disorders.
