With 14 years of post- MD experience, Dr. Jumana specializes in ECMO (Extracorporeal Membrane Oxygenation) and solid organ transplant anaesthesia and critical care management of patients with organ failure, pre and post-transplant. She has received training in ECMO (Singapore) at NUHS (National University Health System) under the guidance of Dr. Graeme Maclaren (an author of ELSO (Extracorporeal Life Support Organization) Red book of ECMO and Dr. Ramanathan (the ELSO ECMO education core team member).
Dr. Jumana’s primary skills include all types of invasive lines airway management ultrasound-guided blocks and line insertions. She is also proficient in the use of advanced monitoring systems for coagulation TEG ROTEM (thromboelastography and rotational thromboelastometry), haemodynamic monitoring invasive (Flotrac PICCO) and non-invasive, like Transthoracic ECHO (certified) and TEE (transesophageal echocardiography). Additionally, she is proficient in the management of patients on life support, with pacemakers / IABP (intra-aortic balloon pump), Renal replacement therapy and ECMO.
Dr. Jumana has worked with tertiary care institutes as a consultant for over 8 years and is experienced in every supra major case of most specialities. She has spent the last two years at NUH, Singapore, an ELSO recognised centre, where she handled a variety of ECMO cases with different reversible indications, with highly gratifying outcomes.
Having completed her MBBS in 1994-2000 from K J Somaiyya hospital, Mumbai university, Dr. Jumana completed her MD anaesthesia, 2000 – 2003, from KEM hospital Mumbai and Certification in ECMO, 2015- 2017 - NUHS Singapore.
